Specialized Research Expertise

Consortium fellows are organized into specialized working panels, each focused on advancing research quality, ethics, capacity building, and evidence synthesis in education.

Education Research Reviews Panel

  • Evaluate the quality, feasibility and ethics of research proposal submitted to the Ghana Education Service (GES) and Ministry of Education (MoE).
  • Assess research proposals submitted by consortium members for methodological rigor, ethical soundness, and alignment with consortium research priorities.
  • Provide constructive feedback to researchers to improve study design, data collection tools, and analysis plans.
  • Ensure research projects adhere to ethical and quality standards, coordinating with the Ethics Review Panel where necessary.

Ethics Review Panel

  • Review research proposals to ensure compliance with ethical standards and protection of participants.
  • Grant ethical clearance for research projects that meet consortium and national ethical requirements.
  • Provide guidance and oversight on informed consent, confidentiality, and data protection practices.
  • Monitor ongoing research projects to ensure adherence to ethical standards.
  • Develop and update consortium-wide ethical guidelines, policies, and training for researchers.
  • Provide Capacity Development in Research Ethics

Research & Publications Panel

  • Coordinate and oversee the quality of research projects conducted within the consortium.
  • Support researchers in developing proposals, conducting studies, and preparing manuscripts for publication.
  • Review and provide feedback on research outputs, including reports, policy briefs, and journal articles, to ensure rigor and clarity.
  • Promote dissemination of research findings through conferences, reputable journals, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Identify research gaps and recommend priority areas for future studies aligned with consortium objectives.

Evidence Synthesis & Design Panel

  • Lead Evidence Synthesis Activities: Coordinate systematic reviews, scoping reviews, rapid reviews, meta-analyses, and evidence maps on priority educational topics.
  • Establish Standards for Synthesis Review Methodology: Create consortium-wide standards and templates for conducting rigorous evidence syntheses.
  • Identify Research Gaps and Priorities from evidence synthesis

Research Capacity Building Panel

  • Provide targeted training, mentorship, and methodological support to strengthen the research skills and competencies of consortium members.
  • Offer open workshops, seminars, and outreach programmes to build wider research capacity within the broader education research community in Ghana.
